I’m not alone in my frustration that our voting system allows a candidate to win with less than half the vote. We should all be able to “vote our dream” without last-minute checking of polls and calculating the results of “voting our conscience.”

With the most recent University of New Hampshire poll in hand, the inconvenient truth is that independent Eliot Cutler (at 16 percent) won’t be the next governor. Cutler supporters do hold the results of the next election in their hands, but there are only two viable candidates.

If you’re a Cutler supporter and you think Maine would prosper more with Democrat Mike Michaud as governor than with Republican Paul LePage, then you need to be as smart and strategic as you proclaim your leader is and vote for the only candidate who can beat Paul LePage.

Vote with your head and your heart. Vote for Mike Michaud.
