When economists claim that Maine needs more immigrants to make the economy grow, would they please explain why we need foreign-born workers as opposed to native born? If there’s something wrong with native-born workers, then let’s talk about it and get it fixed.

Please explain. Our kids are leaving Maine to find jobs.

American employers may want to cherry pick talent from all over the world, robbing Third World countries of their skilled workers, rather than train, recruit and hire Maine people. And maybe they hired the economists to tell politicians that’s what we need to do. But we don’t have to swallow it.

We need good paying jobs for our kids. North Dakota’s economy is roaring because of oil discoveries and new jobs. Workers are pouring in. North Dakota didn’t begin by deciding their state was too old, too white and needed immigrants. Thank you.
