Local police, sheriff’s deputies and an agent from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrested a mother and her son on gun-related charges Monday afternoon in Buxton.

William L. King, chief deputy for the York County Sheriff’s Office, said Raymond Pinkham, 21, and his mother, Louise Cook, 49, both of Buxton, were arrested on separate charges.

Pinkham was charged with receiving stolen property, a Class B felony. The charge was upgraded to Class B because the item he received was a stolen firearm.

Cook was charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. King said Cook had previously been convicted of a felony, making her a prohibited person.

Pinkham and Cook are being held at the York County Jail in Alfred. Their bail has been set at $25,000 cash each.
