WATERVILLE — Kat Mackey scored with 4:57 left as the Colby women’s hockey team edged St. Anselm’s 4-3 Friday night at Alfond Arena.

Mackey put in a feed from Nikki Donato to give both players their first point of the season.

Tiffany Herron and Kaitlin Spillane scored 24 seconds apart early in the first period to give St. Anselm a 2-0 lead. Colby’s Delaney Flynn and Lauren Guarente scored later in the period to tie it at 2.

Alison Quinn of St. Anselm (6-2-1) and Sasha Fritts of Colby (3-4) traded goals in the second period.

Jessica Thulin finished with 38 saves for Colby.

BOSTON COLLEGE 8, MAINE 1: After Jillian Langtry scored at 14:20 of the first period to give the Black Bears (7-9-2, 6-3-1 Hockey East) an early lead, the Eagles (16-0-1, 10-0-0) scored eight unanswered goals to cruise to a victory at Orono.

Haley Skarupa led the way for Boston College with a pair of goals, while Lexi Bender, Alex Carpenter, and Dana Travigno each contributed a goal and an assist.

Brooklyn Langlois and Emilie Brigham each had an assist on Langtry goal.

Katie Burt stopped 12 shots for the Eagles, who are ranked No. 1 in the nation. Mariah Fujimagari and Meghann Treacy split time in net for Maine, combining for 30 saves.

STEVENSON 5, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 4: McKenzie Taggart scored a tiebreaking power-play goal with 7:38 remaining and the Mustangs (6-2) went on to defeat the Nor’easters (3-6-1) at Biddeford.

The Nor’easters allowed three-straight goals after Mary Wirth got the opening goal for UNE 3:20 into the game.

UNE rallied to tie it on goals by Shannon Smith and Cassandra Connolly in the second period and by Gabriella Moscato 9:46 into the third.

TRINITY 4, SOUTHERN MAINE 1: Cheeky Herr had two goals and an assist to lead the Bantams (2-2-1) over the Huskies (2-5-1) at Gorham.

Katie Couture scored the only goal for the Huskies, while Liz Bergstrom stopped 23 shots.

MEN’S HOCKEY

BABSON 3, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Michael Phillips, Max Franklin and Andrew Bonazza scored, and Jamie Murray made 16 saves as the Beavers (9-0, 5-0 ECAC East) downed the Huskies (1-7, 0-6) at Babson Park, Mass.

Kyle Shapiro made 37 saves for the Huskies against the third-ranked team in NCAA Division III.

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 3, BOWDOIN 1: Zach Shapiro, Joe Birmingham and J.C. Cangelosi scored a goal apiece – all assisted by Tim DiPretoro – as the Camels (2-5, 2-3 NESCAC) handed the visiting Polar Bears (6-1-1, 3-1-1) their first loss.

Mitch Barrington scored in the first period and Max Fenkell finished with 20 saves for Bowdoin, which was ranked 10th in NCAA Division III.

TUFTS 4, COLBY 1: Brian Brown had a goal and an assist and Mason Pulde made 28 saves as the Jumbos (3-4-1, 1-3-1 NESCAC) defeated the Mules (2-4-1, 0-4-1) at Medford, Massachusetts.

Michael Decker scored the only goal and Emerson Verrier made 29 saves for the Mules.

UMASS-BOSTON 3, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 1: Mason Riley set a school record with 61 saves for the Nor’easters (3-7, 2-4 ECAC), but UMass-Boston (9-0, 5-0) got two goals in the third period to escape with a win at Boston.

Christian Rossetti scored 1:45 into the first period for UNE, but Nathan Milam tied it at 14:35.

Milam broke the deadlock nine minutes into the third period, and Stephen Buco added an empty-netter in the final minute.
