Biddeford police charged a 54-year-old man with drunken driving after he was found allegedly going the wrong way through a Burger King drive-thru late Monday night.

An employee called police at 11:30 p.m. Monday to say that after entering the drive through going the wrong way, the man had stumbled out of the car, police said. By the time officers could get to the location at the corner of Route 1 and West Street, the man had climbed back in and driven off down West Street.

Officers pulled the man over on Birch Street and charged John Frye, 54 with driving drunk – his third time being charged – and driving after having his license revoked for being a habitual offender, police said.

Frye was found to have a blood alcohol content of .29, which is more than three times the legal limit to drive.

After being evaluated at Southern Maine Health Care, Frye was taken to York County Jail where he was being held on $2,000 bail.
