At least three films with Maine ties were nominated for Golden Globe awards Thursday morning.

The Disney musical “Into the Woods,” which stars Portland native Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, was nominated for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. The HBO film “Olive Kitteridge,” based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Maine author Elizabeth Strout, was nominated for Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. And Cape Elizabeth native Julie Rapaport, a senior vice president at the Weinstein Company, was executive in charge of production for the Margaret Keane biopic “Big Eyes,” which garnered acting nominations for stars Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz.

The Golden Globes will be given out Jan. 11 during a broadcast on NBC. Both “Into the Woods” and “Big Eyes” are scheduled for release in theaters nationwide Dec. 25, and “Olive Kitteridge” first aired on HBO in November.

Kendrick, 29, was not nominated individually for a Golden Globe. The 2003 Deering High School graduate began acting as a child and was nominated for a Tony Award at age 12 for a supporting role in “High Society.” She was nominated for a supporting actress Oscar, but did not win, for her role in “Up In The Air” (2009) with George Clooney. She starred in the musical “Pitch Perfect,” which garnered her a hit song on the radio, “Cups (When I’m Gone).” She also will be seen next year in the musical film “The Last Five Years.”

Rapaport, 30, grew up in Cape Elizabeth and graduated from Waynflete School in Portland. Other films for which she’s served as executive in charge of production include “The Giver,” which was based on the novel by Mainer Lois Lowry, and “August: Osage County.” Rapaport was recently named one of Hollywood’s top executives under age 35 by The Hollywood Reporter.

Strout grew up in Harpswell and splits her time between Maine and New York. Her other books include “The Burgess Boys,” “Abide with Me” and “Amy and Isabelle.”
