A Portland man faces a felony assault charge after he cut another man in the face with an edged weapon, police said.

Dina Sok, 37, of 457 Cumberland Ave., got into an altercation with another man at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The victim of the stabbing was taken to Maine Medical Center for treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

Initial police reports did not provide a description of the weapon or the reason for the confrontation, police said.

Sok was held in the Cumberland County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault pending an initial court appearance.
