Three people made their initial court appearances Tuesday after police seized $60,000 worth of drugs and six guns in Lewiston and Auburn, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said.

For the past month, agents with the MDEA’s western district task force have been investigating a group responsible for selling drugs throughout the Lewiston-Auburn area, MDEA Cmdr. Scott J. Pelletier said in a news release.

After seeing a suspected drug deal taking place late Sunday afternoon in a car on Sabattus Street in Lewiston, police arrested Matthew Mennealy, 33, of Auburn, Kayla Fraser, 25, of Auburn and Gregory St. Pierre, 35, of Lewiston.

Inside the car, police seized crack cocaine, heroin, oxycodone pills, Fentanyl and other prescription medication packaged for resale, Pelletier said. Police also found a loaded handgun.

A search later at the Auburn home of Mennealy and Fraser turned up 52 grams of crack cocaine, 83 grams of cocaine, 70 grams of heroin, 33 grams of Fentanyl, 126 oxycodone pills, digital scales and another five guns, Pelletier said.

Mennealy and Fraser were charged with six counts of aggravated drug trafficking, one for each of the different types of drugs being sold, police said. St. Pierre was charged with possessing an anti-anxiety medication and carrying a concealed knife.

At their initial appearances Tuesday in Lewiston District Court, bail was set for Mennealy at $50,000 cash, for Fraser at $2,000, and for St. Pierre on $250, according to police.
