Fryeburg police on Saturday arrested a local resident after a chase during which he jumped from the second story of his home on Harbor Road.

Police said James Parmenter, 43, stopped his vehicle when he saw police as he was pulling into his driveway. He fled into his house and later jumped out the window.

Additional Fryeburg officers were called to help, as well as deputies from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, Bridgton Police Department, and a State Police K9 unit.

Police said they found Parmenter in a crawl space under his house. He was transported to the Bridgton Hospital for an assessment of minor injuries and was being held without bail at the Oxford County Jail.

Parmenter had outstanding arrest warrants for negotiating a worthless instrument, operating after suspension, attaching false registration plates, drug possession, and theft.

In addition, he was charged on Saturday with violating conditions of release and operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
