A Lowell, Massachusetts, man wanted on warrants related to two armed bank robberies was arrested in South Portland Saturday.

South Portland Police said Michael Vangpa, 25, was arrested as a fugitive from justice without incident at Landry Circle at about 5:30 p.m. Police said Vangpa was wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a Bank of America Dec. 13 and an armed robbery of a TD Bank Dec. 14 in Lowell.

He was found with cash and a small amount of marijuana, police said.

He is being held at Cumberland County Jail.

Police said they would refer the arrest to the Cumberland County District Attorney’s office with a request for prosecution and extradition to Massachusetts.
