Children and families of all reading levels are invited to come read to Grace, Portland Public Library’s literacy dog. Research has shown that reading to dogs allows extra practice with reading comprehension and oral skills. Grace, an 8-year-old yellow Labrador retriever, may help reluctant readers to open up with reading aloud. Sessions with the dog are booked for 15-minute increments.
