The people of Gorham, for the third time in a decade, have someone to cheer for on the hit reality show “Survivor.”

CBS has announced the cast members of this season’s edition, and it includes Dan Foley, 47, a postal worker from Gorham.

Former Gorham High School teacher Bob Crowley won the show’s $1 million prize in 2008, the only Mainer to do so. Gorham resident Julie Berry was on the show in 2004. Berry didn’t win the prize money, but she did win the heart of host Jeff Probst, whom she dated for some time afterward.

Foley said Wednesday he couldn’t talk about the show and referred questions to CBS publicity.

But on his official CBS bio, Foley was quoted as saying he’d do well on the show because “I am a world class schmooze artist, I can charm my way out of almost anything.”

The season of “Survivor” will premiere on Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. on CBS. The episodes to air were filmed in Nicaragua.
