BIDDEFORD — Mike Gelineau scored 14 of his 22 points in the second half as Western New England beat the University of New England 69-63 in a Commonwealth Coast Conference men’s basketball game Sunday.

The Golden Bears (6-11, 4-6 CCC) outscored the Nor’easters (5-12, 3-7) by 11 points over the final 13 minutes.

Devin Thompson had 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocks for UNE. Mano Senthil added 12 points and Jean-Luc Parker chipped in with 11.

(2) VIRGINIA 50, VIRGINIA TECH 47: Justin Anderson scored eight of his 12 points during a late 12-0 run and the Cavaliers (19-0, 7-0 ACC) barely escaped a sold-out Cassell Coliseum with a victory against the Hokies (8-11, 0-6) in Blacksburg, Virginia.

The Cavaliers trailed 43-33 after the Hokies outscored them 30-9 in a long stretch spanning the halves. It included a span of 9:14 between the Cavaliers’ first basket of the second half and its next points, the latter pulling them within 43-36 with 10:20 remaining.

(4) VILLANOVA 71, CREIGHTON 50: Darrun Hilliard scored a season-high 24 points to lead the Wildcats (18-2, 5-2 Big East) to a victory over the Bluejays (9-12, 0-8) in Villanova, Pennsylvania.

(8) NOTRE DAME 81, N.C. STATE 78: Jerian Grant scored 25 points and blocked a last-second shot that helped the Irish (19-2, 7-1 ACC) beat the Wolfpack (13-8, 4-4) in overtime in Raleigh, North Carolina.

(10) LOUISVILLE 80, PITTSBURGH 68: Terry Rozier scored 26 points and the Cardinals (16-3, 4-2 ACC) beat the Panthers (13-7, 3-4) in Pittsburgh.

(14) WICHITA STATE 74, DRAKE 40: Ron Baker scored 15 points and the Shockers (18-2, 8-0 Missouri Valley Conference) beat the Bulldogs (4-16, 1-7) in Wichita, Kansas.

(20) NORTHERN IOWA 54, ILLINOIS STATE 53: Nate Buss hit a 3-pointer from the corner with 5 seconds left and the Panthers (18-2, 8-1 Missouri Valley) edged the Redbirds (12-8, 4-4) in Normal, Illinois.

OHIO STATE 82, (23) INDIANA 70: D’Angelo Russell scored 22 points and added 10 assists, Jae’Sean Tate added a career-high 20 points and the Buckeyes (16-5, 5-3 Big 10) beat the Hoosiers (15-5, 5-2) at Columbus, Ohio.

BUTLER 77, (24) SETON HALL 57: Andrew Chrabascz scored 15 of his 16 points in the first half to lead the Bulldogs (15-6, 5-3 Big East) to a blowout of the Pirates (13-6, 3-4) in Indianapolis.
