PORTLAND

Hard-core Patriots fans can watch the big game outside

And now for something completely different. Watch the Super Bowl outside – yes, outside – at The Thirsty Pig, 37 Exchange St., on Sunday at 6 p.m.

Bring your Patriots blankets, sock warmers and other winter gear to watch an outdoor screening of the game, but don’t worry about getting cold. The Pig will have plenty of deck heaters on hand to keep you from turning into a Patriots popsicle. There will be lots of beer specials, and guest chefs will compete in a chili cook-off.

This might be a good time to gather some fully inflated footballs, bring them to the party and see what happens.
