SEARSPORT — Police say a New York City man has been arrested in Searsport after an undercover Maine drug agent arranged to buy 200 oxycodone pills from him.

Jason Jones, of the Bronx, was charged with aggravated drug trafficking after he was arrested Monday at a gas station convenience store where he had agreed to meet the undercover agent and sell him the prescription painkiller.

Agents say one oxycodone pill sells for $40 to $45 on the street.

The 32-year-old Jones was held in jail on $50,000 bail and it’s not clear if he has a lawyer.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says for several months it has been investigating a drug ring that allegedly sells drugs in the Bangor and Augusta areas as well as the midcoast.
