A Lyman man with a lengthy criminal record was arrested after allegedly running off with the entire cash register from the 7-Eleven at 66 Alfred St. in Biddeford before dawn Wednesday. No weapon was shown.

Police were called at 4:30 a.m. when a man took the cash register from the convenience store, then ran toward Washington Street, police said.

The store clerk gave police a good description of the clothes the thief was wearing – a sweatshirt, jeans and sneakers.

Police found the register in an alley beside 124 Alfred St. so police searched that building and found Brandon Pelletier, 25, of 1346 Alfred Road in Lyman, whose clothing matched the description, police said.

He was charged with robbery and taken to York County Jail in Alfred and is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Friday.
