A water main break closed Riverside Street in Portland for several hours Friday while it was being fixed, a spokeswoman for the Portland Water District said.
The break near the Riverside Golf Course closed Riverside Street just after noon.
Michelle Clements, spokeswoman for the water district, said Friday afternoon that she didn’t know how many customers were affected. She said the road was closed because of concerns about flooding and icing.
It was 15 degrees in Portland at the time of the break.
