LOWELL, Mass. — Liz Wood’s 21 points led the University of Maine’s women’s basketball team to its 10th straight win, a 74-46 trouncing of UMass-Lowell at the Costello Athletic Center Wednesday night.

The Black Bears (18-6, 10-1 America East) broke away from a 16-16 tie with a 29-6 run over the final 7:16 of the first half to take a 45-22 lead. Lauren Bodine scored nine points during the decisive run, all on 3-pointers, and Chantel Charles eight.

Maine continued to pressure after the break, using nine points from Wood to open the second half on a 25-10 run and widen the lead to 70-32 with 10:41 left in the game.

Charles and Bodine finished with 12 points each and Mikaela Gustafsson added 10 for the Black Bears. Jasmine McRoy’s 14 led Lowell (10-14, 4-8).

Maine complemented its offense (60 percent shooting from the floor) with defense and rebounding. The River Hawks shot just 29 percent against Maine’s pressure while being outrebounded 36-22.

SMCC 81, CMCC 67: Tiana Burton’s 21 points off the bench led the SeaWolves (17-7, 11-3 YSCC) over the Mustangs (17-5, 11-2) in South Portland.

Burton powered the SeaWolves to a 42-28 halftime lead with 14 points during a 28-11 first-half run.

ST. JOSEPH’S 85, FISHER 55: Morgan Cahill scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Norma Waggett added 20 points and eight rebounds off the bench and the Monks (15-6) steamrolled the Falcons (3-17) at Standish.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 48, GORDON 29: Kelly Coleman and Sadie DiPierro scored five points each as the Nor’easters (18-4, 14-1 CCC) bolted from the break on a 17-3 run to morph a 14-9 halftime lead into a 31-12 margin over the Fighting Scots (3-19, 1-14) with 13:29 left in Wenham, Massachusetts.

Kelly Coleman led the Nor’easters with 15 points.

(3) BAYLOR 89, OKLAHOMA 66: Nina Davis scored 31 points, Alexis Prince added 16 points and a career-high 11 rebounds and the Bears (23-1, 12-0 Big 12) stretched their winning streak to 22 games by beating the visiting Sooners (15-8, 9-3).

GORDON 59, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 51: Dominic Paradis’ jumper in the lane gave Gordon (10-12, 7-2) a 46-45 lead with 6:03 to play in a Commonwealth Coast Conference game, and Jaren Yang converted six free throws in the final 30 seconds as the Fighting Scots pulled away from the Nor’easters (6-16, 4-11) to earn the victory at Wenham, Massachusetts.

Devin Thompson scored 20 for the Nor’easters.

ST. JOSEPH’S 76, SUFFOLK 69: Steve Simonds scored eight of his 22 points in the final 1:17 to help the Monks (11-9, 9-5 GNAC) edge the Rams (7-14, 4-9) at Standish.

Zach Blodgett added 14 points, including a layup with 1:59 left that gave St. Joseph’s the lead for good at 66-65.

Simonds also pulled down 11 rebounds and Quinn Richardson-Newton added 11 points for the Monks.

Branden Barboza scored 21 points for Suffolk. Jake Meister had 19.

SMCC 90, CMCC 74: Atencio Martin scored 15 points, Tyheem Simon 14 and Grayson Waterman 13 in leading the SeaWolves (20-2, 14-0 YSCC) past the Mustangs (13-13, 10-3) in South Portland.

(2) VIRGINIA 51, N.C. STATE 47: Malcolm Brogdon scored 15 points and Mike Tobey had a couple of key second-half plays to help the Cavaliers (22-1, 10-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) outlast the Wolfpack (14-11, 5-7) at Raleigh, North Carolina.

(9) LOUISVILLE 69, PITTSBURGH 56: Montrezl Harrell had 28 points and 12 rebounds, and helped spur a 22-2 second-half run that helped the Cardinals (20-4, 8-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) top the visiting Panthers (16-9, 5-6).

(13) NORTHERN IOWA 83, ILLINOIS STATE 64: Seth Tuttle scored 23 points as the host Panthers (23-2, 12-1 Missouri Valley Conference) topped the Redbirds (15-10, 7-6) for their 12th straight win.

(15) WICHITA STATE 74, INDIANA STATE 57: Fred Van-Vleet followed up a triple-double with 21 points as the Shockers (22-3, 12-1 Missouri Valley) rolled over the visiting Sycamores (12-13, 8-5) for the fifth consecutive time.

(19) MARYLAND 68, INDIANA 66: Melo Trimble and Dez Wells each scored 18 points as the Terrapins (20-5, 8-4 Big Ten) edged the visiting Hoosiers (17-8, 7-5).

LA SALLE 74, (20) VCU 69: Jordan Price scored 34 points, including 12 in the second overtime, and grabbed 17 rebounds and the Explorers (14-10, 6-5 Atlantic 10) knocked off the Rams (18-6, 8-3) at Richmond, Virginia.

(21) WEST VIRGINIA 76, KANSAS STATE 72: Reserve Brandon Watkins scored a career-high 14 points and the Mountaineers (19-5, 7-4 Big 12) surrendered a double-digit lead before recovering to beat the visiting Wildcats (12-13, 5-7).

(23) OHIO STATE 75, PENN STATE 55: Sam Thompson scored a career-high 22 points and D’Angelo Russell flirted with his second straight triple-double to lead the Buckeyes (19-6, 8-4 Big Ten) over the visiting Nittany Lions (15-10, 3-9).

Ohio State never trailed after taking a 9-0 lead.
