WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Scott Wilson scored a pair of power-play goals for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (28-18-2-3) as they pulled away in the third period of a 3-0 win over the Portland Pirates (26-20-3-0) on Friday night.

The game remained scoreless deep into the second period, when Wilson got the Penguins on the board with 2:30 left.

Wilson added another goal 2:41 into the third period and Andrew Ebbett closed out the scoring three minutes later.

Wilkes-Barre Scranton goalie Matt Murray made 23 saves.

Mike Lee finished with 20 saves for the Pirates.

With the loss Portland remains tied with Worcester for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with 55 points.
