The state’s latest snowstorm has forced the Maine Principals’ Association to shuffle its high school basketball tournament schedule.

Thursday’s scheduled games at the Augusta Civic Center were postponed and moved to Friday.

That prompted even more changes: The Eastern Class A girls’ and boys’ championship games, originally scheduled for Friday night in Augusta, now will be played Saturday, along with the Western Class C and D championship games.

No changes have been announced for Thursday’s games in Bangor at the Cross Insurance Center nor in Portland for the Western Class B boys’ and girls’ semifinals at Cross Insurance Arena.

Dick Durost, the executive director of the MPA, said officials in Portland would wait until Thursday morning to assess whether a change in schedule is needed.

“They don’t have any morning games (Thursday) in either Portland or Bangor, so they have a little more leeway,” he said.

Friday’s schedule at the Augusta Civic Center will begin at 10 a.m. with the Western Class D girls’ semifinals.

The new schedule:

10 a.m. – Western Class D girls (Rangeley vs. Searsport)

11:30 a.m. – Western Class D girls (Richmond vs. Vinalhaven)

2:30 p.m. – Western Class C girls (Dirigo vs. Madison)

4 p.m. – Western Class C girls (Mountain Valley vs. Maranacook)

7 p.m. – Western Class C boys (Waynflete vs. Dirigo)

8:30 p.m. – Western Class C boys (Winthrop vs. Maranacook)

Saturday’s new championship game schedule at the Augusta Civic Center will begin with the Western D girls’ finals at 10 a.m.

The rest of the schedule will look like this:

11:45 a.m. – D boys (Hyde vs. Forest Hills); 2:30 p.m. – A girls (Lawrence vs. Bangor); 4:15 p.m. – A boys; 7 p.m. – C girls; 8:45 p.m. – C boys.
