The state’s latest snowstorm has forced the Maine Principals’ Association to shuffle its high school basketball tournament schedule.

Thursday’s scheduled games at the Augusta Civic Center were postponed and moved to Friday.

That prompted even more changes: The Eastern Class A girls’ and boys’ championship games, originally scheduled for Friday night in Augusta, now will be played Saturday, along with the Western Class C and D championship games.

No changes have been announced for Thursday’s games in Bangor at the Cross Insurance Center nor in Portland for the Western Class B boys’ and girls’ semifinals at Cross Insurance Arena.

Dick Durost, the executive director of the MPA, said officials in Portland would wait until Thursday morning to assess whether a change in schedule is needed.

“They don’t have any morning games (Thursday) in either Portland or Bangor, so they have a little more leeway,” he said.
