CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Authorities say a Canadian man was flown to a Lewiston hospital after being found lying in the middle of a trail at Sugarloaf ski area.

Carrabassett Valley Police Chief Mark Lopez tells the Sun Journal that 20-year-old Kyle Henderson, of Nova Scotia, was found on the intermediate to expert Boomauger trail at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday by another skier.

Lopez says it appears as if Henderson fell, but didn’t strike anything. The exact nature of his injuries was not disclosed.

A nursing supervisor at Central Maine Medical Center said Wednesday night that Henderson was in critical condition.
