BUCKSPORT — A Bucksport man has been indicted for his alleged involvement in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Orrington last fall.

Prosecutors said Wednesday that 29-year-old Marc Sparks has been indicted on a manslaughter charge in connection with the Sept. 13 crash that led to the death of 59-year-old Robin Rie, of Brewer.

Police say Rie was driving on Route 15 when she slowed down to take a left turn into a roadside vegetable stand and her vehicle was rear-ended. Rie was severely injured and died days later. The impact sent Rie’s car crashing into a nearby house.

The other driver left the scene.

Prosecutors say Sparks had just left a Bangor methadone clinic and was driving with a suspended license. He was tracked down later in Bucksport.
