DURHAM, N.H. — Matt Miller scored a season-high 24 points and New Hampshire concluded the men’s basketball regular season with a 65-56 victory over Maine on Saturday.

The Wildcats (18-11, 11-5) finished with their second-most victories in school history, a win shy of the 1994-95 squad. UNH, as the No. 4 seed, will host No. 5 Hartford in the first round of the America East tournament on Wednesday.

Jaleen Smith added 12 points and Jacoby Armstrong 10 with Tanner Leissner grabbing 13 rebounds.

Shaun Lawton scored 16 points to lead the eighth-seeded Black Bears (3-26, 2-14), who will travel to play No. 1 Albany. Maine played without leading scorer Kevin Little, out with a groin injury.

Miller hit a 3-pointer to begin a 9-0 run amid a Maine drought of over six minutes to lead 54-43 with 7:55 left and the Black Bears didn’t get closer than nine after that.
