Once again, you got it wrong with your support of South Portland students who refuse to recite the Pledge of Allegiance (“Our View: South Portland students give lesson in patriotism,” Feb. 26).
The pledge is not just about the flag. The words call for “allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands.” I think anyone who lives in this country should pledge allegiance to it, and if you can’t do that, then you should go live somewhere else.
