An Auburn man convicted of selling drugs in the Lewiston-Auburn area has been sentenced to more than 14 years in prison.

David Goyette was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Portland after pleading guilty last year to charges of trafficking and possessing cocaine and crack cocaine.

Prosecutors say the 28-year-old Goyette, from 2011 through June 2013, obtained large quantities of cocaine from Massachusetts, cooked some of it into crack cocaine and distributed both drugs in Maine.

He was arrested in June 2013 after meeting his supplier in Boston.

The Sun Journal reports that in addition to his prison term, Goyette forfeited property and a mobile home he bought with drug proceeds and got five years of probation.
