Portland police have issued surveillance photos in an effort to identify a man who robbed a convenience store clerk at knifepoint Wednesday night.

Police said a man walked into the Xtra Mart convenience store on Brighton Avenue around 6:15 p.m. with a ski mask over his face, waved a large knife at the clerk and demanded money.

The clerk handed over cash and the robber fled, walking to the rear of the building, where he drove off in a white pickup truck. Nobody was hurt.

Police described the man as 25 to 30 years old, average height and build, white, wearing a dark colored mask, a dark blue long-sleeved hooded jacket with the hood up, light colored jeans and dark shoes or sneakers.

Security footage shows the man fled in a white Chevrolet single cab pickup truck, which headed outbound on Brighton Avenue. Police ask that anyone with information contact the department at 874-8584.
