The most recent Down East magazine had an article that claimed that Yarmouth is one of the nicest towns in which to live, mainly because of the people.

Having moved here 14 years ago, my husband and I agree heartily. A recent incident proves my point.

I pulled into the parking lot of the newly renovated Merrill Memorial Library and Heidi Grimm, our terrific director, knocked on my car window and said, “I know what book is waiting for you. Don’t bother to get out of your car; I will go in and bring it out to you!”

That was such a friendly, kind thing to do on a snowy, icy morning.
