Striped Bass Hearing, 6 p.m. in Wiscasset
The Department of Marine Resources will hold two public hearings on the proposed striped bass regulation during the second week of March. The first hearing will be held at 6 p.m. March 9, at the Lincoln County Communications Center, 34 Bath Rd. in Wiscasset. The second will be held at 6 p.m. March 11, at Cabela’s, 100 Cabela Blvd. in Scarborough. To learn more about the proposed new striped bass bag limit, go to 1.usa.gov/17sloW3.

Winter Birding Talk, 7 p.m. March 17 in Wells
York County Audubon is hosting a talk at the Wells Reserve about birding in Japan. Japan has several claims to fame as a travel destination, but few think of the country as a wildlife destination in winter. Birder Marie Jordan shares highlights from her trip there.
