Source is about to turn one year old, and you are invited to the party. OK, it’s not a birthday party, in fact. What we’re actually celebrating is not us, but you. Please join us at the first ever Source Maine Sustainability Awards on the evening of April 9 at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester.

A couple of months ago, we put out a call asking you to nominate individuals, businesses and organizations in Maine helping to make the state a greener, more sustainable place. To our delight, we were inundated with nominations – terrific nominations. (Watch for more about those, and the winners, in a few weeks.)

At 5:30 p.m. on the 9th, we’ll be honoring the winners and generally celebrating local farms and food, Maine agriculture and fisheries, green mentoring and environmental efforts of every stripe in Maine – not to mention the return of spring (assuming it does return). Help us toast the winners and get to meet many movers and shakers in Maine’s sustainability community, as well as the writers and editors of Source. And if these aren’t enough of a draw, how about the seriously good local food we’ll be serving? For tickets, $25 each, please go to pressherald.com/SOURCEAwards.

Carhartts and Bean boots optional.
