BANGOR — A Hudson man police say was drunk when he crashed his car on New Year’s Day, killing his fiancee, has been indicted on a manslaughter charge.

WABI-TV reports that 42-year-old Shawn MacNevin was also indicted Wednesday on an aggravated OUI charge in connection with the crash in Bangor in the early morning hours of Jan. 1 that took the life of 37-year-old Elizabeth Horlieca.

Investigators say the MacNevin’s Jeep ran off the road and struck a tree. Prosecutors allege his blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit to drive.

Police say witnesses heard MacNevin bragging that he had driven drunk before and saw his vehicle swerving.

He faces arraignment on May 6. It’s could not immediately be determined if he has a lawyer.
