The Portland Press Herald “Sports Digest” on Monday included one little blurb stating the final results of the BNP Paribas Tennis Open in Indian Wells, California. This was great coverage of what is the second largest tennis event in the U.S. next to the U.S. Open.
I guess the unused frozen local golf courses (“Golf course operators optimistic despite snow”) are of more interest to the local reporters than what is unquestionably one of the premier sports events of the year in many tennis fans’ eyes.
