A Biddeford woman tried to smash out the window of a police cruiser with her head after her arrest by York County Sheriff’s Office deputies Saturday.
Police said Paula Gagne, 53, was arrested Saturday night after police checked on her after receiving reports that she was sitting in a snow bank on Mountain Road in Arundel.
She had told a passerby that family members were abusing her, police said.
Police said Gagne, who faced outstanding arrest warrants for violating a protection order and her conditions of release, was uncooperative and tried to flee when the deputies approached. They arrested her on the outstanding warrants and for refusing to submit to arrest and violations of conditions of release. She was also summonsed for unlawful possession of drugs, police said.
Police said Gagne was combative with the deputies once she was apprehended.
She is being held at York County Jail on $1,800 bail. She is scheduled to appear in Biddeford District Court Monday.
