Winners of the 84th annual Maine Drama Festival state finals have been announced.

In Class A, Cape Elizabeth High School placed first in performance, with Bangor High School placing second and Fryeburg Academy taking third place. Falmouth High School, Camden Hills Regional High School, Windham High School, Waterville High School and Skowhegan Area High School finished fourth through eighth, respectively.

All Festival Cast winners in Class A include Erena Hriskos and Jonathan Thompson of Waterville High School; Justin Ramos, Kaylee Pomelow and Kody Pomelow of Skowhegan Area High School; Cole Amorello, Ryan Wallace, Robert MacKay and Andrew Harrington of Cape Elizabeth High School; Bethany Vix, Carly Berke, Bekah Schade and Eliza Robinson of Camden Hills; Christian Ford, Sean Soucy, Cole Walsh and Matt Estabrook of Falmouth High School; Emily Algeo, Will Wheaton, Jen Bernier, Anna Giroux and Libby McBride of Windham High School; Nick Danby, Langston Hamer-Nagle and Vanessa Graham of Bangor High School; and Alex Ouelette and Ciara Neidlinger of Fryeburg Academy.

Judges’ Commendations also were awarded to the following Class A schools and drama students: Waterville High School – accent coach to Annalisa Lanzolla; Skowhegan Area High School – set design to Bill Kelly and Justin Ramos; Cape Elizabeth High School – integrated set and light design; Camden Hills Regional High School – live music, New San Francisco Chorus; costumes to Savannah Berryman-Moore and Hope Orsmond; set design to Jack Prime; and student director to Bethany Vix; Falmouth High School – musical research arrangement and horse and donkey designers to Michela Micalizio and Winslow Robinson; Windham High School – movement, music direction to Kris Dow and ensemble; Bangor High School – storytelling ensemble and costume design; and Fryeburg Academy, ensemble and also sound to Liz Grzyb.

In Class B, Yarmouth High School took top honors, with Lincoln Academy placing second and Lisbon High School third. Deer Isle-Stonington High School, Stearns High School, Mount Desert Island High School, Maine Central Institute, Central High School, Monmouth Academy and Cheverus High School finishing fourth through 10th, respectively.

All Festival Cast winners in Class B include: Jesse Rodrigues of Cheverus High School; Marvin Merritt IV and Ali Eaton of Deer Isle-Stonington; Mary Paola and Griffin Graves of Mount Desert; Cossette Holmes and Michelle Martin of Lisbon High School; Nicole Brewer, Tristan Wright and Megan Cohen of Central High School; Maddy Whittemore, Sam Steinbock, Samantha Mangino, Jackson Ruprecht and Eli Puelle of Yarmouth High School; Makayla Carr, Maddie Whittington and Tony Rizza of Maine Central Institute; Noah Brown, Matt Bragdon and Liza Brown of Stearns; Avery Gagne, Brianna Moody and Chris Dumon of Monmouth High School; and Gabrielle Kimball, Rowan Carroll-Christopher and Thalia Eddyblouin of Lincoln Academy.

Judges’ Commendations also were awarded to the following Class B schools and students: Cheverus – costume design to Emily Duff, scenic design to Angela Haith and sound design to Patrick Sullivan; Deer Isle Stonington – ensemble award and troupe award for overall production and accommodation; Mount Desert Island – sound design to Max Corman and Jacob Sanner, set design to Conor Crandall and evocative use of practical lighting to Emilia Cullen; Lisbon High School – set design and construction and costume design and construction; Central High School – ensemble for the Daffodil Chorus to Elsie Chambers, Brittany Emerson, Emily Fraser-Read, Anna Snow and Mackenzie Willard; Yarmouth High School – stage management to Phillip Chowdry, original music to Karl Munroe, sound design to Ben Dow, choreography to Meredith Coolidge and set design and construction to technical theatre class; Maine Central Institute – set painting, pictures and props to the tech theatre class, and costume design to Elspeth Taylor and Caroline Hanson; Stearns High School – lighting design to Chris Brown; Monmouth High School – to the deck crew of Luke Thombs, Ben Larson, Duncan Gahagan-Grant, Jon Marsh, Nick Menice and Taylor Spadafora; and Lincoln Academy – set design.

Top winners now advance to the New England Drama Festival April 23-25 at Camden Hills Regional High School.
