Falmouth police and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security served a search warrant at a business licensed to do acupressure therapy and charged a New York woman with engaging in prostitution.

Police said in a news release Thursday that they were responding to complaints that a large number of men were patronizing the massage therapy business at 367 U.S. Route 1 at unusual hours. Police issued a court summons charging Hyesun Kim, a 48-year-old woman from Flushing, New York, with engaging in prostitution.

Police had been investigating Ace Asian Therapy for several months. The business was licensed to provide Korean acupressure therapy, though that license was revoked, police said.

Police are continuing to investigate management and the client base and said more charges may be brought, said Lt. John Kilbride.

The search warrant was executed April 2. Kilbride said police issued their statement because, even with the investigation still underway, people in the area were aware of police activity there.

The Department of Homeland Security was asked for help because of its expertise in languages, an obstacle which could have hindered the investigation.

Kilbride said it appears the business’s sign has been removed and the people working there may have left the area.
