Police on Monday discovered the body of a missing 74-year-old Edgecomb woman in a river about five miles from her home, according to a news release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

The body of Lynn Crink was found in the Sheepscot River just north of the Donald Davey Bridge about 1:50 p.m. by a couple walking their dog along Water Street in Wiscasset, police said.

Crink was last seen on Friday. Her husband told police she left their home on foot about 4:30 p.m. to go for a walk.

Extensive ground, water and air searches were conducted by the Maine Marine Patrol, Maine Warden Service, Maine State Police, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Lincoln County Search and Rescue, the news release states.

Crink’s body is being transported to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and to determine the cause of death, but investigators do not suspect foul play, police said.
