A Raymond man was killed early Saturday morning when the car he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer on Route 202 in Hollis, according to the Maine State Police.

State police said Travis Lowberg, 24, was heading east about 3 a.m. when his car crossed the centerline and struck the tractor-trailer, which was driven by Marc Bowland, 35, of Rhode Island and was headed west.

Lowberg was pronounced dead at the scene. Bowland suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, according to state police.

The tractor-trailer caught fire on impact but Bowland managed to escape from the vehicle through the passenger side window.

The Department of Environmental Protection was called to the scene to handle a fuel leak from the tractor-trailer.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Police said no charges have been filed.
