The Portland apartment building where a man fell from his porch and died last month passed an inspection by the city Tuesday.
City spokeswoman Jessica Grondin said the building’s porches, which the city deemed unsafe after an inspection following the death, are no longer accessible to tenants and will be removed.
Donald Stain, 53, fell 20 feet from the porch on Cumberland Avenue on April 22, when a railing he was leaning on gave way.
Grondin said the 11-unit building at 563 Cumberland Ave. has two outstanding fire code violations that the city has given owner Harry Krigman until June 8 to fix.
