FALMOUTH — Charles McDonough scattered six hits Wednesday as Lake Region downed Falmouth 6-2 in a Western Maine Conference baseball game.

McDonough struck out five and walked three for Lake Region (2-7) against the Yachtsmen (5-3).

Nick Wandishin paced a four-run first inning with a two-run single. Jordan Williams added a two-run double in the seventh for the Lakers.

YORK 5, KENNEBUNK 3: Sam Johnson singled in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning to lift York (7-2) over the Rams (6-3) at Kennebunk.

Forrest Kelley tacked on another run with a sacrifice fly. Trevor Labonte sent the game into extra innings for the Wildcats when his two-out single scored Derek Neal in the top of the seventh.

Kennebunk loaded the bases in the bottom of the eighth with no outs but didn’t score.

Dan Bock pitched all nine inning for the Wildcats, giving up seven hits, striking out three and walking two. Kennebunk pitcher Ben Lary pitched into the ninth. He allowed 12 hits, struck out nine and walked one.

WESTBROOK 12, PORTLAND 3: Bailey Ryan struck out nine, walked one and gave up four hits to lead the Blue Blazes (3-5) over Portland (6-2) at Westbrook.

Westbrook totaled 10 runs in the first two innings. The Blazes scored four in the first with RBI singles by D.J. Henrickson, Ryan and Patrick Weimer, and an RBI triple from Keigan Sears.

Weimer finished with three RBI.

GARDINER 8, MEDOMAK VALLEY 6: Bradley Weston doubled home two runs and scored on a single by Brady Smith as the Tigers (7-2) rallied for four runs in the sixth inning to overtake Medomak Valley (3-6) at Waldoboro.

FREEPORT 4, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: Jack Davenport finished with 13 strikeouts, and Caiden Shea and Nate Cyr knocked in one run each to lead the Falcons (4-5) past the Patriots (3-6) at Gray.

TRAIP ACADEMY 14, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 3: Each player in the lineup scored in the fourth as the Rangers (6-2) totaled seven hits with 10 runs and cruised past the Panthers (1-7) at Yarmouth.

Alex Foye had an RBI single and scored twice in the fourth for Traip.

NYA carried a 3-0 lead through three innings.

Trevor Salema picked up his third win of the season, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out nine and walking one.

Johnny Busolin had a double and a single for the Panthers.

BONNY EAGLE 11, WINDHAM 4: Troy Bogdahn struck out eight, walked three and scattered seven hits to help Bonny Eagle (5-3) down the Eagles (3-4) at Windham.

Noah Scribner drove in two runs with a base hit in the third inning for the Scots.

LACROSSE

WINDHAM 17, MARSHWOOD 1: Griffin Jacobsen had seven goals and three assists as the Eagles (5-1) routed Marshwood (1-6) at Windham.

Zack Callahan had five assists and a goal, and Jake Wall and Zach Hough added two goals each.

GORHAM 23, NOBLE 4: The Rams (6-0) used a balanced offense and rolled past the Knights (3-4) at Gorham.

SOUTH PORTLAND 8, THORNTON ACADEMY 7: Chris Mitchell scooped up an elusive free ball one minute into overtime and scored on an 8-yard shot to lift South Portland (6-0) over the Trojans (4-2) at Saco.

The goal was Mitchell’s third of the game. Andrew Whipple added a goal for the Red Riots and assisted on four others. Isaac Sinclair had two goals and two assists, and Zach Bryant a pair of goals for Thornton.

Edward Hellier blocked 15 shots for the Riots and Chris Camire 13 for the Trojans.

WESTBROOK 16, MASSABESIC 0: The Blue Blazes (5-1) took a 12-0 halftime lead and cruised past the Mustangs (0-6) at Waterboro.

Westbrook received goals from eight players.

CONY 8, EDWARD LITTLE 3: Brett Sproul and Dale Lapierre each had two goals and one assist to lead the Rams (3-4) over the Red Eddies (3-4) at Auburn.

Chad Bickford added a goal and two assists for Cony, and Joel Bennett, Anthony Sousa and Nate Foye also scored. Cam Gallant made 12 saves.

Gino Mancini, Ethan Nadeau and Matt Verrill scored for Edward Little. Brandon Assebo made four saves.

MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 17, MORSE 7: Denver Cram scored six goals and Ty Smith added four as the Hawks (7-1) cruised past the Shipbuilders (4-3) at Kents Hill.

James Canwell scored three goals, and Kyle Morand had two goals and an assist for the Hawks.

Isaiah Weston had seven saves for Maranacook/Winthrop. Ryan Muncey had 13 for the Shipbuilders.

MESSALONSKEE 15, OXFORD HILLS 4: Dylan Jones had four goals and two assists as the Eagles (5-2) rolled past the Vikings (0-6) at Oakland.

Connor Smith added three goals, and Dylan Burton scored twice and picked up an assist for Messalonskee.

John Lejauhod led Oxford Hills with three goals.

OAK HILL 9, ST. DOMINIC 5: Matt Gilbert scored three goals and his brother Steven Gilbert added a pair to lead the Raiders at Wales.

Kaleb Sturtevant had a goal, an assist and six ground balls for Oak Hill. Chad Merrill had a game-high nine ground balls.

Kenton Ernst scored twice for St. Dom’s.
