HARTFORD, Conn. — The College of New Jersey scored six unanswered goals in the final 18 minutes Saturday and eliminated Bowdoin in the third round of the NCAA Division III women’s lacrosse tournament with a 10-5 victory.

Bowdoin (16-4) scored the first three goals in the first seven minutes before the Lions (18-3) countered with three straight. The halftime score was 4-4.

Emma Beecher scored six minutes into the second half for Bowdoin before the Lions took control.

BASEBALL

ALBANY 6, MAINE 1: The Great Danes (14-28, 7-13 America East) scored four runs in the sixth inning and defeated the visiting Black Bears (24-26, 10-10) in a regular-season finale.

Jacob Gosselin-Deschesnes of Maine went 5 2/3 innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out four.

The Black Bears, the third seed in the America East tournament at Lowell, Massachusetts, will face Maryland-Baltimore County in the first round Thursday.
