After trailing 7-2, the Portland Sea Dogs got the bats going and rallied for a 14-10 victory over the Altoona Curve Tuesday night at Hadlock Field.

Portland scored 12 runs from the fourth through eighth innings to extend its winning streak to four.

Carlos Asuaje knocked in four runs, and Mike Miller and Luis Martinez both had three RBI. Oscar Tejeda hit his first home run of the season as part of the 17-hit attack.

Asuaje went 3 for 5 with a single, double and triple.

Blake Tekotte reached base four times (triple, two singles and a walk).

Mike McCarthy (3-3) picked up the victory with his first relief appearance this year.

McCarthy relieved starter Luis Diaz, who lasted only four innings (and 81 pitches).

Diaz, the Sea Dogs’ opening-day starter, continues to struggle. In eight starts, he has yet to go six innings. He gave up five runs in the second inning, including a three-run Gift Ngoepe homer, and two more runs in the fourth. His ERA jumped to 6.75.

Portland scored three runs in the fourth on Miller’s two-run triple and Asuaje’s RBI single.

In the fifth, Portland scored four times to take the lead, keyed by RBI doubles from Martinez and Asuaje.

Madison Younginer followed McCarthy and gave up two runs in the eighth.

Pat Light finished for the Sea Dogs with an adventurous ninth. He walked the bases loaded but, with two outs, struck out prospect Josh Bell.

NOTES: The announced paid attendance was 3,559.
