A man with a white bandanna over his face robbed a Scarborough convenience store early Sunday morning, police said.

The man, who was also wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt with a hood, walked into Lampron’s Lil Mart at 88 County Road around 4:20 a.m. and demanded that a clerk give him cash from the register, according to Scarborough police.

The man did not display a weapon, but made a gesture to make the clerk believe he had one concealed, police Sgt. Mary Pearson said in a news release late Sunday afternoon. He left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber was described as white, in his middle to late 30s and with dark hair. He was last seen wearing tan pants.

Police did not immediately have a surveillance camera image of the robber to release.
