Zack Quintal of Marshwood has been chosen as Maine’s Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year. Quintal, a senior, is a pitcher and third baseman.
Quintal, a Maine Sunday Telegram all-state selection last year, was batting .463 with two triples and was 5-1 as a pitcher through Wednesday’s games.
He has maintained a B average in the classroom and has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Maine.
Quintal is the second Gatorade winner from Marshwood, joining Luke Fernandes, who won in 2012.
