Many thanks to Bob Keyes for creating and writing about his own walking tour of some of Portland’s public art in the May 21 MaineToday Magazine (“A walking tour of Portland sculpture: From ‘Michael’ to Longfellow, 8 public pieces worth seeing”).

He got most of the information in the article from our splendid website, www.publicartportland.org. Information about the 45-plus pieces of public art in Portland, along with maps and nearby pieces, allows anyone to create their own walking tour.

Right now there are two Art in Our Front Yard videos posted on the website, along with talks about “The Little Water Girl” at the Portland Public Library and “Our Lady of Victories” in Monument Square. Go to the pages about each of these pieces to hear and watch the talks.

To find out about future Art in Our Front Yard talks and just to keep updated on our work, go to the website’s Resources page and sign up for our mailing list. You can also find out about us and public art by “liking” the Portland Public Art Committee Facebook page.
