A Friday, Sept. 6, 1985, Portland Evening Express photograph shows Falmouth’s Route 1 district near Fundy Road. The town of Falmouth is currently wrapping up a major construction project, as seen in the June 10, 2015, photograph, to add new sidewalks, lighting and landscaping along this stretch of roadway.
The Portland Room of the Portland Public Library is in the process of organizing and conserving the archival collection of original Portland Press Herald, Maine Sunday Telegram and Evening Express photographic negatives — a major collection that spans from 1937 to 2005.
