Old Town’s Eric Hoogterp is Maine’s Mr. Baseball for 2015.

The Maine Baseball Coaches Association presented the Dr. John W. Winkin Award to Hoogterp before the annual East-West Class A/B senior all-star game Friday at Husson University.

Hoogterp, a shortstop/pitcher, was the Penobscot Valley Conference player and co-pitcher of the year after leading the Coyotes to a 17-1 season and the Eastern Class B semifinals. He hit .611 with 21 RBI and 25 runs scored and went 4-0 with a 0.67 ERA as a pitcher.

Other finalists were: Maranacook’s Cam Brochu, Lisbon’s Kyle Bourget, Greely’s Will Bryant, South Portland’s Henry Curran, Gage Feeney of Washington Academy, Brunswick’s John Parker and Marshwood’s Zach Quintal.

AMERICAN LEGION: Justin Leeman scored four runs to lead Gray/Greely to a 15-2 victory over OA-Yarmouth in Cumberland.

Cal Soule had three RBI for Gray/Greely (1-1).

 Patrick Weimer doubled in Sam Kilborn with the go-ahead run as Moody’s (3-1) scored twice in the sixth inning to take a 3-2 lead over Libby Mitchell (1-4). Moody’s added a run in the seventh for a 4-2 win in Scarborough.

NECBL: Dalton Thomas doubled home Shaine Hughes and scored on Chris Gaetano’s single as the Sanford Mainers (7-8) broke a scoreless tie with a three-run fourth inning en route to a 3-1 victory over the Keene Swamp Bats (4-14) in Sanford.

Joey Abraham pitched six scoreless innings for Sanford.

TWILIGHT LEAGUE: Chris Tinsman’s two-run double pushed in the go-head run during Lenders Network’s (7-1) 5-2 victory against Edge (2-6) in Portland.
