A movie that will debut on TV in time for the holiday season has wrapped up filming at Portland’s Victoria Mansion and at locations in York and Kennebunkport.

Director Tim Janis describes the movie “Button Girl” as an uplifting family musical narrated by Kate Winslet and featuring Dick Van Dyke, Jane Seymour and Charles Shaughnessy.

He tells Portland Monthly magazine that some of the pivotal scenes were filmed at Saint Ann’s, a stone church in Kennebunkport, and at Victoria Mansion in Portland. The movie follows the story of a girl named Annabelle who loses her parents in a mill town in New England in the early 1900s.

The York, Maine, native is a composer who has produced about 35 CDs. The film is being distributed by American Public Television.
