Full Moon Canoe Tour, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Scarborough

Experience the sights and sounds of marsh creatures under the full moon with Maine Audubon at the Scarborough Marsh Nature Center off Pine Point Road. Watch for black-crowned night herons along the bank or snowy egrets flying back to a nearby island for the evening. The paddle starts at 8 p.m. Arrive no later than 7:30. Cost is $14. Nighttime Paddle, 7 p.m. in Holden

Join the folks at Fields Pond Audubon Center for a float along the lake shore. The cost is $5 to rent a canoe, paddle and life jacket. Call 989-2591 to register.

Butterfly Walk, 1 p.m. July 4 in Holden

Help count butterflies for the North American Butterfly Count, which supplies data about declines or increases of butterfly populations. Anyone interested in counting and identifying butterflies around Fields Pond Audubon Center should contact Pat Snyder at 567-3137 or dorine38@aol.com. The cost is $3 for adults, free for children.

Indiantown Island Paddle, 10 a.m. July 10 in Boothbay

The Boothbay Region Land Trust will lead a kayak trip to Indiantown Island. Meet at the Knickercane Boat Landing off Barters Island Road. Plan to be in the water by 10:30 a.m. A life vest is required. To register, call 633-4818.
