James Schwartz, your restaurant reviewer, may have good ideas, but he mostly stumbles in their execution.

We live in Saco and dine at The Chef & The Gardener quite often.

I would give him 0 stars for his 1½-star June 21 review of the restaurant.

The dimly lighted hallway entrance ramp invites my husband, in his wheelchair, and me into a quiet relaxing meal served by a delightful, highly skilled and knowledge wait staff.

We have never been given knives with plastic handles.

The tables have always been set in a professional manner with flowers.

In our many visits, we have been served several different types of bread that have always been tasty. One of my favorite meals is their scallops.

They are always large, flavorful and cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection, served with well-matched accompaniments.

Perhaps it is time for Mr. Schwartz to return to Washington to dine at fancy restaurants.

Please don’t send him to review any more restaurants in Saco.
