More than 3,000 runners hit the streets of Portland Saturday morning to compete in the Old Port Half Marathon and 5K.
Sixteen-year-old Charles Berg of Franklin, Massachusetts, won the half-marathon in 1 hour, 14 minutes and 34 seconds. Amanda Nurse, 28, of Boston was the top women’s finisher – and 14th among all runners – in 1:21:56.

James Boeding of Portland was the top Maine runner (third overall) in 1:17:12. Rebecca Wimert of Falmouth was the first among Maine women’s finishers (fifth among all women) in 1:28:38.
