A Maine State Police cruiser has been rear-ended by another motor vehicle on the Maine Turnpike, but the cause of the crash and the extent of injuries, if there are any, have not been determined.

The Scarborough Fire Department sent a fire truck to the crash site, which took place in the northbound lanes of the Maine Turnpike between Exits 42 and 44 in Scarborough.

The Maine Turnpike Authority said the crash, which was reported just before 6 p.m. Thursday, is causing moderate traffic delays.
